AI Preferences: Privacy Policy
Last updated November 6, 2026
AI Preferences is a test app from TALCO Labs LLC. It turns what you've bought into a taste profile. This page explains what the app reads, what it keeps and what leaves your phone.
The short version
- Your orders are processed on your phone. TALCO Labs has no server for this app, and we never receive your emails, orders or preferences.
- If you connect Gmail, the app only reads. It never sends, changes or deletes an email.
- You can disconnect Gmail and delete all your data in Settings at any time.
What the app reads
- An Amazon order file you choose to upload. It's read on your phone. The app keeps only the item lines, not the file.
- Gmail, only if you connect it. The app uses Google's read-only Gmail permission. It reads emails that look like orders, receipts, invoices, shipping or delivery notices, refunds, or flight confirmations and itineraries, from any sender, over the last 3 years.
What the app keeps, on your phone only
- Item details: the item name, store, brand, category, quantity, price and purchase date of things you bought, plus your swipes and the reasons you pick.
- Product photo addresses: the web addresses of product photos found in your order emails.
- For emails it couldn't read, the app keeps only the sender's domain (for example, shop.com) and a count, on your phone.
- Never kept: email text, senders' full addresses, card numbers, home addresses, order or ticket numbers, or ID numbers.
- Private groups: health, pharmacy, baby, adult and alcohol items are marked private. They stay out of your exported file unless you choose to include them.
- Your Google sign-in token is stored in your iPhone's Keychain, for this device only.
- Backups: the app's data stays on this iPhone and isn't included in iPhone or iCloud backups. If you move to a new phone, the app starts fresh.
Flights
- From flight confirmation and itinerary emails, the app keeps only travel habits, on your phone: the airline and its alliance, the cabin (economy, premium economy, business or first), seat type (window, aisle or middle), where you sit (front, middle or back), the time of day you fly, direct or connecting, flight length (short, medium or long), the continents you fly between, how far ahead you book, how long your trips are, and whether you liked or passed on each flight.
- It works out those habits and then throws away the exact dates, seat and row.
- Routes and airport codes are shown on your cards. They stay on your phone and are never exported.
- People you travel with: the app keeps one name for each person, never a full name, on your phone. These names are never exported or shared. You can delete each person, and they stay deleted unless you turn companion names back on.
- Never kept from flight emails: booking or confirmation codes, ticket numbers, frequent-flyer numbers, full names, dates of birth, passport or ID numbers, payment details, exact flight dates, exact seats or rows, email addresses or phone numbers.
- Your exported file can include, only after you confirm it: airline or alliance, cabin, seat type, where you sit (front, middle or back), time of day, whether you prefer direct flights, flight length (short, medium or long), and at most a pair of continents. It never includes routes, airports, dates, people or how many flights you took.
What leaves your phone
- Google: to sign you in and read your Gmail, if you connect it.
- Stores' image servers: product photos load directly from the store's own site (for example, Amazon's image server). The request carries only the photo's address, plus what any image load reveals, such as your IP address.
- Where you send it: your preferences file goes only where you copy or share it.
- Nothing goes to TALCO Labs: no analytics, crash reporting or AI services receive your data.
- TestFlight: if you test the app through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports with us, plus any feedback or screenshots you choose to send. Crash reports don't contain your emails or orders. A screenshot shows whatever was on your screen. Apple's own terms cover TestFlight.
Google user data
- AI Preferences' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Gmail data is used only to show your own items and preferences to you. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to train AI models, and not read by people.
Deleting your data
- Settings → Disconnect Gmail revokes Google access and deletes Gmail items from your phone.
- Settings → Delete my data deletes everything the app stored and revokes Google access.
- Uninstalling the app removes its data, except your Google sign-in token in the Keychain, which is cleared if you install the app again. If you didn't disconnect Gmail first, you can revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Children
- This app is not for anyone under 18.
Changes
- If this test starts sending any data off your phone, we'll update this page, change the date at the top and ask you first.
